BIOGRAPHY

Chris Cook, or as the geneticists at TESLA Laboratories refer to him, “Project Zero”, was born as part of a government programme aimed at creating super humans that would one day live for 200 years and be able to breathe underwater. While the programme was ultimately a failure, Chris escaped the cruel disfiguration of his fellow test subjects (including Gordon Ramsay, Davina McCall and Wayne Rooney) and was raised in the Lake District by a lovely family of devout procrastinators. Chris spent the first few years of his youth jamming forks into plug sockets, eating playdough and vocalising his vehement dislike for Kendal Mintcake.

Chris first got into trickery when he convinced his brother that if he ate enough red crayons he could walk through walls. This love for tomfoolery evolved into a passion for deception after a chance encounter with a French street-magician. Chris began his magic career as a small-time con-artist, scamming his friends out of drinks down the pub, before moving on to doing walk-around magic at weddings, hotels and posh restaurants at the age of 16. Chris’s overbearing desire for attention also took him to the stage, performing magic in school plays, talent shows and on local TV. Since then Chris has performed magic to hundreds of people and even once to a rather unimpressed goldfish. In 2009, Chris travelled to New York to teach magic to children, as well as trying to teach crowds of over four hundred Americans what British humour is...

Nowadays Chris works full-time as a magician, performing magic at events and parties as well as doing work in the street theatre entertainment industry. He can also be found singing songs in local pubs, reciting performance poetry at open mic nights and drawing funny faces on fruit. He hopes to one day have someone name a sandwich after him.
